About Me

My Profession

Philosophy and education have been themes throughout my life. Making sense of the world and helping other people to do the same is my favourite thing to do, hence my interest in teaching and research. You can view my CV here.

My Family

I am the proud father of a talented daughter (age 12) and an inquisitive son (age 7) and I take an active interest in their education and accomplishments. We all live together on a 108 acre farm in Western NY that has been in my family for four generations.

My Other Interests

I love music. I'm a keyboard player and I play a replica of a 16th century harpsichord, which I built myself from a kit. In the summer I like to sail my Hobie Cat at the Allegheny Reservoir. I am also a PADI open water diver and an FAA licensed sailplane pilot.

My Blog

Reconciling the perspectives of science and religion is one of the great problems of our age. The purpose of my blog is to explore the problem and look at possible solutions, with the goal of helping readers find a solution that works for them.  This is obviously going to take a while, especially if one wants to be balanced and thorough.  But I find it endlessly fascinating.
